Hello again. It's mid-June. The next episode has progressed very little. I am still unsuccessful in finding a different job. We still have not colonized the moon. Moon bases would be completely awesome. Why is everyone so against it?

Next episode progress: 2/3rds complete of the animation of section 5 of a total of 12 sections. I'm going to try to get this one done this week. I'll be assembling a personal schedule of what I want to get done when, and posting more detailed information of when things might come out in the close future. This section of my website needs a change as well. The redesign will bring this out of it's Flash confines and into rich, search-engine-friendly HTML, add some RSS functionality, and a look based on the design of my portfolio. I'm also sick of mucking around in SQL tables every time I screw up the post. I really need to program an edit function into the new design.

In the meantime, fill out the T-Shirt Survey and see a small preview of the next episode!

A speed paint done in GIMP. It took a little over an hour, but my attention was being shared with a show that was on and I am not used to GIMP's strange GUI.

View Sketch Book Page - Cute Fluffy Animals... In Space! File Size: 82.86kb

This twisted creation eats away at my soul every time it's disgusting visage graces my sight. I may loose my sanity and make an animation out of it. Even the act of drawing this in the first place put me in such a delirium that figured that by drawing a puke pail and an insulin shot would be enough to save me from this horror as it crawled forth from the graphite of my pencil. Clearly I should have drawn a shotgun instead.

Why does such a deranged act against nature exist? Some guy wanted someone to illustrate a book and told me he didn't believe I could do "cute and fluffy." Well I sure showed him, huh?

View Perspective Drawing File Size: 171.81kb

A perspective drawing of a room and some boxes. I had to edit the picture taken from a digital camera, so the shadows are a lot stronger than they really should be.

My current job is driving me nuts, so I'm trying to beef up my portfolio as much as possible. I've been meaning to upload some of the things I did for a college art class I took a year ago, but I don't have a scanner big enough to scan them in. I finally broke down and used my digital camera, which is why they don't have the best lighting possible. Along with those I uploaded a few pages of my sketchbook, which is small enough to fit on my scanner.

The next episode of The Sandwich Shop Ninja is still at where I left it a week ago, unfortunately. I upgraded the hard drives on my tower, and just made a clean install instead of straight-copying everything over. I do use my laptop for most of the work, but I lost a bit of time trying to find all my driver CD's.

I spent last Thursday figuring out how to get a partition to run Fedora 5. I have mixed feelings about Linux. It's not very user-friendly, and my sound card is unsupported. I still haven't checked to see if I can get Wacom tablet support. Plus, there's not really much to do with it. Adobe doesn't seem to want to make their programs Linux compatible. If Blender is any good, however, I'll probably use it for 3D stuff.

I guess that's all for this week. I did see the new Shrek movie. I thought it was good. Nothing too incredible, but it was entertaining.

Still life of some boxes. I got bored, so I drew the lamp that was over them.

A lot of stuff going on here. A murderous toaster, Catoman and friends, and some creepy little guy with chicken wings or something.
